Land, Plants, Sun, and Stars
Today's Bible story
From Genesis 1:9-19
On the third day, God said, "Let the waters come together in one place, and let the dry land appear." And it happened! God called the dry land Earth. He called the waters Seas. God saw that it was good. Then God said, "Let the earth grow grass, plants, and trees with fruit." Green grass and plants and fruit trees grew all over the earth. Each one had seeds so more could grow. God saw that it was good. On the fourth day, God put lights in the sky. He made the sun, a big light to shine in the day. He made the moon, a smaller light to shine at night. He made the stars too! These lights help us know when it is day and night. They help us count days, seasons, and years. God saw that it was good. Every time you see a tree, eat a piece of fruit, or look up at the stars, you can remember that God made them.
Verse to remember
“The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.”
Psalm 19:1 (KJV)
Talk about it
- What did God make on the third day?
- What lights did God put in the sky?
- What is your favorite fruit that God made?
Pray
Dear God, thank You for the land, the seas, the trees, and the fruit I eat. Thank You for the sun, moon, and stars. You made them all good. In Jesus' name, Amen.
