God Made Light and Sky
Today's Bible story
From Genesis 1:1-8
In the beginning, before there was anything at all, there was God. Then God made the heaven and the earth. At first the earth had no shape. It was empty, and it was dark everywhere. But the Spirit of God moved over the waters. Then God spoke. He said, "Let there be light." And there was light! God saw that the light was good. God separated the light from the dark. He called the light Day, and He called the dark Night. That was the first day. On the second day, God spoke again. He made a big open space above the waters. Some water was below it, and some water was above it. God called the open space Heaven. That is the sky we see when we look up. God did not need tools or helpers. He only had to speak, and it happened. Our God is very powerful. He made everything, and He made it good.
Verse to remember
