Jesus Is Alive
Today's Bible story
From Luke 24:1-12
Jesus had told His friends that He would die on the cross and rise again on the third day. Jesus died on the cross to take away our sins. His body was placed in a tomb, a cave made of rock. Early on Sunday morning, some women who loved Jesus went to the tomb. They brought sweet spices. But when they got there, the big stone was rolled away. They went inside, and Jesus' body was not there! The women did not know what to think. Then two men in shining clothes stood by them. The women were afraid and bowed down. The men said, "Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen!" They reminded the women of what Jesus had said. The women remembered! They ran to tell the disciples. Peter ran to the tomb to see for himself. He saw it was empty, and he wondered about what had happened. Jesus is alive!
Verse to remember
“He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee,”
