Jesus Calms the Storm
Today's Bible story
From Mark 4:35-41
One evening, Jesus said to His disciples, "Let us go over to the other side of the lake." So they got into a boat and began to sail. Jesus was tired, so He lay down in the back of the boat and fell asleep on a pillow. Then a great storm came. The wind blew hard. Big waves splashed into the boat, and it began to fill with water. The disciples were very scared. They woke Jesus up and said, "Master, don't you care that we are in danger?" Jesus stood up. He spoke to the wind and said to the sea, "Peace, be still." Right away the wind stopped, and the water became calm. Jesus asked His friends, "Why are you so afraid? Do you not have faith?" The disciples were amazed. They said to each other, "Who is this? Even the wind and the sea obey Him!" Jesus is God's Son. He is stronger than any storm.
Verse to remember
“What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.”
Psalm 56:3 (KJV)
Talk about it
- What was Jesus doing when the storm came?
- What did Jesus say to the wind and the sea?
- What can you do when you feel afraid?
Pray
Jesus, You are stronger than any storm. When I feel afraid, help me remember that You are with me and I can trust You. Amen.
