Jesus Is Born
Today's Bible story
From Luke 2:1-20
A long time ago, Mary and Joseph had to take a trip to the town of Bethlehem. The town was very busy. There was no room for them in the inn. So when baby Jesus was born, Mary wrapped Him in soft cloths. She laid Him in a manger, a place where animals eat. That same night, shepherds were in a field watching their sheep. Suddenly an angel came, and God's bright glory shined all around them. The shepherds were afraid. But the angel said, "Fear not. I bring you good news of great joy. Today a Saviour is born. He is Christ the Lord." Then many angels praised God together. The shepherds hurried to Bethlehem. They found Mary, Joseph, and baby Jesus, just like the angel said. They told everyone about Him. Then they went back to their sheep, praising God for all they had heard and seen. Jesus is God's Son. He came to be our Saviour.
Verse to remember
“For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.”
Luke 2:11 (KJV)
Talk about it
- Where was baby Jesus laid after He was born?
- What good news did the angel tell the shepherds?
- What did the shepherds do after they saw Jesus?
Pray
Dear God, thank You for sending Jesus to be my Saviour. Help me be happy and tell others about Him, just like the shepherds. In Jesus' name, Amen.
